Developing basketball skills helps to make our kids better adults from the life lessons learned on the court! The strength of our organization is you, the AYYA families, who have dedicated you time and effort to our children.
The AYYA Basketball Program is co-ed, and runs from early December through the last weekend in March. The program is open to boys and girls, ages 4 to early teen. Our In-House Programs focus on beginner to intermediate skill levels in three different age groups: 6U, 8U, and 10U. We also offer a competitive Travel Program, and we’ve added a six-session clinic this winter!
AYYA will provide uniforms (jerseys/shorts) for all players and equipment for all coaches.
These 90-minute sessions are held on Saturday mornings – drills and skills during the first half, followed by a game during the second. We use 6-7-foot hoops for our 6U Program, 7.5-foot hoops for our 8U Program, and regulation 10-foot hoops for the 10U Program. At the end of the season all participants receive a trophy!
Travel Program games begin in early January and end on the final weekend of March (practices begin in mid-December). Practices and games are on weeknights (Monday - Friday) between 6:30 and 9pm. This competitive program plays in the Yonkers Basketball Federation for Boys & Girls, for players ages 6 to early teen, and is best suited for our intermediate to advanced skill level players.
Held in November/December at Roosevelt High School, these 60-minute clinics will be broken down into two sessions per night based on age group. These clinics are open to registered AYYA players and for those who may not be able to commit to a full season but are looking for some additional gym time to improve their skills.
