Mission Statement (excerpt from our By-Laws):
ARTICLE II - OBJECTIVE
2.01: To provide a supervised recreational youth sports program in New York State in order to help the children of the community, through it various programs and how it conducts itself by example, to learn and develop: a deep respect for themselves and others, a sense of sportsmanship and teamwork, the benefits of exercise, the values of leadership, persistence, and hard work, the virtues of truth and integrity, and the power of education; to promote the innocence and joys of childhood, all in an effort to help them become stronger and better members of the community as they move towards adulthood; and any other lawful purpose under the N-PCL (non-profit corporation law.)
2.02: Non- Discrimination. It is the strict policy of All Yonkers Youth Athletics, Inc. at each level within its organization that all individuals are treated fairly and with a uniform code of standards. In this way, we can ensure the equal treatment of all participants, volunteers, etc. without unlawful discrimination as to race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, financial status, or citizenship status in all decisions, actions, or other interactions with the organization. Any infractions of this policy are to be handled as per the RRP.
2.03: All directors, officers, and other members shall bear in mind and always exemplify and remind others (i. e. players, parents, coaches, etc.) that winning is secondary to the organization's objective and the primary goal of providing a positive climate where children will have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals and strategies of each of the offered sports with the support and contribution of their parents.
